In 1925, Carlos de Aldecoa Fernandez started a coffee roasting company in Madrid, Spain. With the coming of the Spanish Civil War, he moved his family – and the business – to Córdoba, Mexico, and began a coffee packaging operation, producing fractional packs for the hospitality industry and traders.
While maintaining offices in Madrid, Spain - his son - Carlos de Aldecoa Pereda, joined the family business in 1959, expanding the roasting business to include coffee companies in the United States. In the early 1980’s, he built a decaffeination plant in Mexico, processing coffee for several Mexican and American companies.
In 1985, Coffee Process Tech Corp was incorporated in Houston, Texas USA. It is a privately owned and operated caffeine extraction facility serving roasters and traders in the USA and abroad. Being privately owned allows us the flexibility to receive, process and ship coffee to any destination requested by our customers. Throughout the years the UVVW DECAF process has been perfected by the proprietary family.
In the early 90’s the third generation began working in the family business directed by Carlos de Aldecoa Pereda and his wife Maria Bueno de Aldecoa and his five children managed operation, logistics and production.
Now in the 21st century, their four daughters are hands on in the business from trading, production, sales and administration
