In 1925, Carlos de Aldecoa Fernandez founded a coffee roasting business in Madrid, Spain. With the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War, he relocated his family and operations to Córdoba, Mexico, where he established a pioneering coffee packaging operation focused on fractional packs for the hospitality sector and commercial traders.
Maintaining strong ties to their Spanish heritage, his son, Carlos de Aldecoa Pereda, joined the family enterprise in 1959 and successfully expanded roasting activities into the United States market. In the early 1980s, he developed a state-of-the-art decaffeination facility in Mexico, which provided processing services to numerous coffee companies in both Mexico and the United States. A key milestone occurred in 1985 with the founding of Coffee Process Tech Corp. in Houston, Texas.
This privately held decaffeination and steaming facility has grown into a leading provider of services to roasters and traders both domestically and internationally. Its independent ownership structure allows significant flexibility in receiving, processing, and delivering coffee to customer-specified locations worldwide, with processing techniques refined and perfected across multiple generations of family leadership.In the 1990s, the third generation joined the business under the guidance of Carlos de Aldecoa Pereda and Maria Bueno de Aldecoa. Their five children took on key responsibilities in operations, logistics, and production. Today, three of their daughters lead critical areas of the company, including trading, production, sales, and administration.
